“Extreme Vetting”: Donald Trump should “self-deport”

“We should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio.

"Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into the country,"

Mr. Trump has called for assault on critics at his rallies (and on non-whites generally), and tried to get a judge fired for being a Mexican-American. He has denounced the President as not being born in the United States (no birth certificate is sufficient...).  He has urged violence against his rival candidate. He has scorned a Muslim-American family whose son gave his life for this country. He is the epitome of intolerance.

He has plainly not read the American constitution.

People around the world are horrified by Trump.

In the 2012 election, the Mitt Romney asserted viciously that immigrant workers should “self-deport.” That was racist.

But for the sake of our Constitution and to halt hate, Mr. Trump, inspecting in the mirror the reflection of oozing hatred that stares back at him day after day, should self-deport.  The next best thing would be for him to desist from public life….
